Sometimes we need to only re-index a subset of our bibliographic data or authorities. Currently this is only possible by enumerating all id (-bn or -ai), which does not work well when indexing eg 100.000 items of a 2.000.000 DB. Re-indexing everything is also overkill.
This patch adds an `--where` flag to misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl which can take arbitrary SQL (that of course has to match the respective tables) and adds it as an additional param to the resultset to index
To test, start koha-testing-docker with ElasticSearch enabled, for example via `ktd --es7 up
Before applying the patch, rebuild_elasticsearch will index all data:
Biblios:
$ misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -b -v
[12387] Checking state of biblios index
[12387] Indexing biblios
[12387] Committing final records...
[12387] Total 435 records indexed
(there might be a waring regarding a broken biblio, which can be ignored)
Auth:
$ misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -a -v
[12546] Checking state of authorities index
[12546] Indexing authorities
[12546] 1000 records processed
[12546] Committing final records...
[12546] Total 1706 records indexed
Now apply the patch
Biblio, limit by range of biblioid:
$ misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -b -v --where "biblionumber between 100 and 150"
[12765] Checking state of biblios index
[12765] Indexing biblios
[12765] Committing final records...
[12765] Total 50 records indexed
Note that only 50 records where indexed (instead of the whole set of 435 records)
Auth, limit by authtypecode:
$ misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -a -v --where "authtypecode = 'GEOGR_NAME'"
[12848] Checking state of authorities index
[12848] Indexing authorities
[12848] Committing final records...
[12848] Total 142 records indexed
Again, only 142 have been indexed.

This enhancement adds a REST API endpoint to list a patron's recalls:
/api/v1/patrons/{patron_id}/recalls
This depends on the logged in patron having the manage_recalls subpermission.
To test:
1. Log in to the staff interface as your superlibrarian self (Patron A)
2. Go to Koha Administration -> Global system preferences. Enable the UseRecalls system preference
3. Set the relevant recalls circulation and fines rules
4. Search for an item (Item A)
5. Check out Item A to yourself (Patron A)
6. Log in to the OPAC as Patron B, a patron who does not have the manage_recalls permission
7. Search for Item A and request a recall
8. While still logged in to the OPAC as Patron B, hit this URL: https://your-opac-url/api/v1/patrons/patron-b-borrowernumber/recalls (swap out your URL and Patron B's borrowernumber)
9. Confirm you are given an error: "Authorization failure. Missing required permission(s)."
10. Log out of the OPAC and log back in, this time as Patron A
11. Hit the URL again https://your-opac-url/api/v1/patrons/patron-b-borrowernumber/recalls
12. Confirm you are able to view a list of Patron B's recalls
13. Confirm tests pass: t/db_dependent/api/v1/patrons_recalls.t

Bug 28268, in
Koha::MetadataRecord::Authority::get_all_authorities_iterator,
introduced a warning:
warn "Something went wrong reading record for authority $row->authid: $@\n";
But a method cannot be called from within quotes in Perl - extrapolation
does not work for functions/methods. So, if something really goes
wrong, this line of code produces a warning like:
Something went wrong reading record for authority
Koha::Schema::Result::AuthHeader=HASH(0x55cf7e0d0958)->authid: Empty
String at /usr/share/perl5/MARC/File/XML.pm line 450.
which is not very informative -- authid is missing.

Hard to reproduce. This problem occurs only in rare cases of some weird problem
in stores authority data or if a auth record had been deleted after a ES reindex
action has been initiated. But the problem in the code and the fix seem obvious.

This patch makes all controller methods using direct $object->to_api, rely on $c->objects->to_api.
Direct ->to_api calling prevents things like embeds, +strings, etc to be dealt with correctly.
In some cases this change reduces the code as the authors extracted the embed structure from the stash and passed it explicitly.
I left out two Patrons.pm cases because I need to study it a bit more.

Koha with Zebra prevented auto truncation in some circumstances -- see
the first return for ccl inside C4::Search:: buildQuery, before applying
auto truncation, and setting $auto_truncation = 0 for some search
fields.
Koha with ElasticSearch applies auto truncation for all search fields,
not paying attention to these special cases when it should not be done.
This leads to various problems as described in bug 26508, 26608, etc.
The solution would be to prevent auto truncation for certain search
fields, above all – the identifiers. In addition, under no
circumstances should a search field other than of text type be truncated
(an attempt to truncate would generate an exception from ElasticSearch,
e.g. number_format_exception for integer).
Test plan
=========
0. Use the test data sample provided in the bug report. Comment 16 in
the ticket.
Scenario A (authority)
----------------------
1. Enable Elasticsearch engine.
2. Have like 100+ bibliographic records and properly linked authority
records.
3. Reindex ElasticSearch if needed.
4. Enable QueryAutoTruncate systempreference.
5. Find the authority record #1 and note the number of linked biblio
records.
6. Show the detail of authority #1 and compare the number of linked
biblio records.
7. If in the database there are authority records with ids =~ /^1/ (i.e.
10, 11, 12, ..., 100, 101, ...) linked to the biblio records you get
two different numbers of linked records.
8. Also, as lists of linked biblio records (via link: Used in N
record(s) from results view and detail view) you will get two
different sets of biblio records. In particular, on the list generated
from detail view (authorities/detail.pl?authid=1) you will get biblio
records that are in fact not linked to the auth #1 (the list is
generated with &q=an:1).
8.99. Skip to scenario B and come back here after finishing to not have
to unapply the patches and restart services for nothing.
9. Apply this patch.
10. Counts and list of linked biblios should be ok.
Scenario B (analytics)
----------------------
1. Enable Elasticsearch engine.
2. Have three monographic bibliographic records with 001 = 1, 10, 100
(i.e. =~ /^1/).
3. Have an analytical record with 773 $w = 1 (in the test data set - biblio 896).
4. Enable QueryAutoTruncate and UseControlNumber systempreference.
6. Find the analytical record and click on the link generated from 773,
i.e. (In: ... --> catalogue/search.pl?q=Control-number:1). You should see
a list of 100+ records (001 = 1, 10, 100) instead of one (001 = 1).
7. From the biblio # 1 try to go to the analytice records (with Show analytics
link) - you should get 60+ records with from different host records (773 $t)
-- instead of one.
8. Apply this patch. Make sure that control-number and record-control-number
are included in ESPreventAutoTruncate syspref.
9. Repeat steps 6 and 7. You should arrive at the right host record in p. 6
and at one analytical records when looking for analytical records in p. 7
(or more than one, but right, if you modified the test data set).

Koha::Object depends on Koha::DateUtils, which depends on C4::Context,
which depends on Koha::Config::SysPref, which depends on... Koha::Object
Apart from the circular dependency, the dependency on C4::Context alone
is problematic as it loads a bunch of modules that are not needed at all
in Koha::Object (YAML::XS and ZOOM for instance).
As Koha::Object is used as a base for a lot of modules, we should take
care to only load the minimum required.
This patch moves some date parsing code to specific modules:
- Koha::DateTime::Format::RFC3339
- Koha::DateTime::Format::SQL
and it uses them in Koha::Object and Koha::DateUtils where it is
possible.
Test plan:
1. Do not apply the patch yet and run the following command:
`perl -cw Koha/Object.pm`
It should print several warnings about redefined subroutines, meaning
there is a circular dependency.
2. Apply the patch
3. Run `perl -cw Koha/Object.pm`. It should only say:
"Koha/Object.pm syntax OK"
4. Run the following command:

The userenv (logged in user's info) are stored in
$C4::Context->context->{activeuser}, which persists in plack worker's
memory.
It's really bad in theory as we are not cleaning it before or after the
HTTP request, but only when set_userenv is called (what we are doing
commonly in C4::Auth::get_template_and_user).
If C4::Context->userenv is called before set_userenv we should get undef,
not the userenv from the previous request!
In practice this should not be a problem, but well... who really knows?
This patch suggests to have a middleware to deal with removing the
userenv at the beginning of each request (maybe it should be after, right? - FIXME).
To test:
1 - Edit /etc/koha/sites/kohadev/koha-conf.xml to set <plack_workers>1</plack_workers>
2 - Edit about.pl and add a line after: CGI->new:
warn Data::Dumper::Dumper( C4::Cointext->userenv() );
3 - tail -f /var/log/koha/kohadev/*.log
4 - View about.pl in staff interface, should get a "somethign's wrong" warning
5 - Reload, you get current user info
6 - Open an incognito tab, sign in as a different user and click some stuff
7 - Reload about.pl in other window
8 - You get the opac user info
9 - Apply patch
10 - Edit /etc/koha/sites/kohadev/plack.psgi and add the middleware after "RealIP":
enable "+Koha::Middleware::UserEnv";
11 - Restart all
12 - Reload about.pl - you get a "Something's wrong" warning

When importing patrons we assume a default of '' for borrower columns not supplied in the file.
When saving we compare the new object we built to the one form the database - for columns are that are not text type we get undef from the db and '' in the object we make. This means we see a difference and log into the BorrowersLog:
"date_renewed" : {
"after" : "",
"before" : null
},
"dateofbirth" : {
"after" : "",
"before" : null
},
"debarred" : {

"password_expiration_date" : {

}

+ attached items, subscriptions etc via the API as an alternative to the web interface: cgi-bin/koha/cataloguing/merge.pl
This is a slightly improved version of Zenos patch: I (domm) have converted the code in Koha::Biblio to a more DBICy style and packed it into a transaction (as requested in Comment 23)
Even the QA script is happy now!
To test:
1) you need an API user with the permissions "editcatalogue"
2) two records: one to be merged into (with biblio_id, eg 262) and another one from
which to merge (with biblio_id_to_merge, eg 9) which will be deleted!
both records may/should have items, subscription, subscriptionhistory, serial, suggestions
orders and holds
3) check both records via the web
4) Apply patch
5) Write a JSON file with inside the field 'biblio_id_to_merge' and the biblionumber from wihich to merge.
As example:
{
"biblio_id_to_merge" : 9
}
6) Execute an API call with correct headers and location. For example:
curl -s -u koha:koha --header "Content-Type: application/json" --header "Accept: application/marc-in-json"
--request POST "http://127.0.0.1:8080/api/v1/biblios/262/merge" -d @file.json
You must to setup the headers and to use a json file with parameters
7) The record with the id 9 is deleted now, the record with 262 has all items, etc attached,
the return is: return code 200 and the changed record 262 in marc-in-json format
8) It is possible to override biblio data with an external bib record. You need to put external bib record
into the json file in marc-in-json format. To write use the json file uploaded as example
You need to fill the fields 'rules' and 'datarecord'. The field 'rules' must contains 'override_ext'
To do the call:
curl -s -u koha:koha --header "Content-Type: application/json" --header "Accept: application/marc-in-json"
--request POST "http://127.0.0.1:8080/api/v1/biblios/XXX/merge" -d @file_with_recod.json
9) The record in 'biblio_id_to_merge' is deleted now, in biblio XXX now there are the bibliographic data
of field 'datarecord' of json file, the return is: return code 200 and the changed record XXX in marc-in-json format
10) Go into intranet and do a search. Select two or (better) more record.
11) Merge them; merge must be a success.
12) Test with prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Biblio.t
13) Test with prove -v t/db_dependent/api/v1/biblios.t
To test with curl the step 8 you can customize the json file attached in bugzilla.
The marc-in-json record inside follows the MAR21 standard

Bug 33036: Update of test number.
File ../biblios.t was update with a new subutest.
So we need this update to have a 'OK' after test running.

This routine really belongs inside Koha::Booking rather than
Koha::Biblio. This patch moves it there, renames with _ to highlight
it's private nature.

These methods were introduced and used in an earlier iteration of the
code, they are no longer called from anywhere (the code in
Koha::Booking->store handles all cases instead) and thus I choose to
remove them rather than add unit tests for them.. They are simple
methods that could be re-introduced as required at a future date.

As mentioned on bug 36329, this endpoint is only used with one of this
parameters:
* item_type
* collection_code
The other will be NULL both on the DB and the (deserialized) request
body. For the data from the DB, the author added `|| q{}` but missed to
do so on the incoming parameters when generates the hash key.
This generates the following warnings when using from the UI:
[2024/03/15 11:42:51] [WARN] Use of uninitialized value in sprintf at /kohadevbox/koha/Koha/REST/V1/TransferLimits.pm line 146.

The 2 nested loops are terrible in term of algorithmic complexity.
Especially if we are fetching from there.
The goal of this patch is to fetch all the limits outside of the loop.
If you have 100 libraries, it will remove 100^2 - 1 fetches!

This change includes the Koha::Token changes which uses
Koha::Session for generating and checking CSRF tokens.
0. Apply the patch and koha-plack --restart kohadev
1. Setup Keycloak OIDC SSO according to "Testing SSO"
wiki guide
2. In a regular window go to http://localhost:8080
3. In a private window go to http://localhost:8080 and click
the SSO "Log in with..." button, but don't log into Keycloak
4. In the regular window, login locally, and navigate to 5-6 pages
5. In the private window, log into Keycloak
6. Note that you are redirected back to Koha and logged in
successfully (no wrong_csrf_token error).

Using the many-to-many relationship results in the table alias `me` to
be used for table `item_bundles` instead of the expected table `items`.
This causes ordering and filtering to fail for columns Callnumber and
Barcode.
Using Koha::Items->search does not have this problem.
This patch also disables ordering by status because it does not work
(error message is: "Cannot find Koha::Object class for return_claim'")
Test plan:
1. Create an item bundle
https://koha-community.org/manual/23.11/en/html/circulation.html#circulating-bundles
2. Add at least 2 items to this bundle
3. Verify that ordering/filtering by callnumber or barcode works
4. Run `prove t/db_dependent/api/v1/items/bundled_items.t`
