test plan:
1. Export a record with an item from the staff interface as MARCXML (Save > MARCXML).
2. Edit the file and remove the 952$a (home library) and 952$b (current library).
3. Delete the item and record in the staff interface.
4. Import the exported record and item from the MARCXML file:
- Cataloging > Import > Stage for import
. Settings > Format: MARCXML
- Stage for import
- View batch link on the job details page (assuming successfully staged)
. New record framework: change to Books, Booklets, Workbooks
5. Turn on the browser developer tools and view the console.
6. Access the details page for the new record.
7. Note that you get:
- A "Processing" dialog box on screen
- A browser pop-up window/dialog box with:
Something went wrong when loading the table.
500: Internal server error
- Click OK
- The console shows:
. Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
. Got 500 (Internal Server Error)
. DataTables warning: table id=holdings_table - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see https://datatables.net/tn/7
8. Run misc/maintenance/search_for_data_inconsistencies.pl, you get these result (the itemnumber may be different):
== Not defined items.homebranch and/or items.holdingbranch ==
* Item with itemnumber=973 does not have home and holding library defined
=> Edit these items and set valid homebranch and/or holdingbranch
(↑↑ don't do it, it's part of the message content)
9. Apply the patch.
10. Restart everything.
11. Refresh the details screen for the imported record.
12. You now get the same as step 7, but with added "Have a look at the "Audit" button in the toolbar" text in the browser pop-up dialog box:
- A "Processing" dialog box on screen
- A browser pop-up window/dialog box with:
Something went wrong when loading the table.
500: Internal server error
Have a look at the "Audit" button in the toolbar
- Click OK
- The console shows:
. GET http[URL for the record....] 500 (Internal Server Error)
. Got 500 (Internal Server Error)
. DataTables warning: table id=holdings_table - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see https://datatables.net/tn/7
13. Click on the Audit button.
14. You get a yellow box at the top of the record with:
Errors found
Item with itemnumber=973 does not have home and holding library defined
(Note that there is still the "Processing" dialog box, you can edit the item by select the "Items" option in the sidebar menu and then edit the item details - the home and current library files will be auto-populated with the current library, Centerville with KTD)
15. Repeat step 8, you get the same results.
16. The tests pass: prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Database/DataInconsistency.t
17. Check the details page for another record that doesn't have any data issues - note the 'Audit' toolbar item, and if clicked should show a blue box at the top of the record with "No data inconsistency found."

This patch adds a new parameter to ModReserve: skip_fix_priority
The page for altering priority ensures each hold has a unique rank, so doesn't allow for setting two
holds to the same rank, so we don't need to reorder everything until the end (in case of some cancellations etc)
This patch also makes FixPriority exported and updates the name as it is already called in a few places outside of
C4:Reserve
To test:
1 - Place many holds on a record, 50 - 150
https://github.com/kidclamp/handy-koha-script/blob/main/randhold.pl
2 - View the record in the staff interface:
http://localhost:8081/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber=312
3 - Click on the 'Holds' tab
4 - Adjust the priority of several holds using the dropdowns
5 - Open the network tab in the browser console (F12) to view the timing
6 - Click 'Update hold(s)' and note the time
7 - Apply patch, restart all
8 - Repeat
9 - Confirm timing is better and numbering updates correctly
10 - Sign off!
Note: The script adds holds that may be marked as 'lowestPriority' these will always all group at the bottom of the record

The Koha Manual has been translated into Greek:
https://koha-community.org/manual/latest/el/html/index.html
However, 'Greek' is missing from the list of languages
available in the 'KohaManualLanguage' System Preference.
This patch fixes that.
Test plan:
1) Without the patch, visit Administration > System preferences >
Enhanced content, and under the 'Manual' section notice that
'Greek' is missing from the options of the 'KohaManualLanguage'
syspref dropdown.
2) Apply the patch, and run updatedatabase.pl
The 'KohaManualLanguage' dropdown should now list 'Greek'.

Bug 35451 added a record_table field to the additional_field_values
database table for performance optimization (better joins). However,
this field was not added to the OpenAPI schema, and with
additionalProperties: false, the API validator rejects responses
containing it.
Rather than adding this internal implementation detail to the public
API schema, this patch adds a custom to_api method to
Koha::AdditionalFieldValue that filters out the record_table field.
This approach:
1. Keeps the database optimization from Bug 35451
2. Prevents internal implementation details from cluttering the API
3. Maintains context that API consumers already have from parent objects
4. Fixes OpenAPI validation errors for ERM agreements, licenses, and
packages using extended_attributes
Test plan:
1. Create an ERM agreement with additional fields/extended attributes
2. Access the agreement via the API with extended_attributes embedded
3. Verify the response includes extended_attributes but not record_table
4. Confirm no OpenAPI validation warnings in plack-api-error.log
5. prove t/db_dependent/api/v1/erm_agreements.t

This changes "Koha administration" to "Administration" on the
staff interface home page and the administration module home page.
Everywhere else in the staff interface, such as browser page titles
and breadcrumbs, administration is used.
This improves consistency, and is how it is commonly referred to.
It also change some other occurences in the code base, such
as code comments.
Test plan:
1. Note the inconsistencies in how we name and refer to the
administration module:
1.1 Staff interface home page: Koha administration
1.2 Administration module home page: Koha administration, but note
that the breadcrumb and browser page title is "Administration".
1.3 Breadcrumbs and browser page titles for any of the administration
areas are just "Administration".
1.4 More > Administration.
2. Apply the patch.
3. Note that on the staff interface home page and the administration
home page are now labelled "Administration".

Adding a new guarantee and storing it fails with "Creating a patron"
selected in TrackLastPatronActivityTriggers when guarantors are set
to be mandatory. The problem comes from Koha::Patron->store called
in update_lastseen. Since we validate guarantor in Koha::Patron->store
but don't store them in there, new call to store fails because it
doesn't receive guarantor info as parameter.
As a solution, we should validate guarantors in separated method.
Validation can't be moved e.g. to Koha::Patron::Relationship->store
since this could lead to situations where guarantee is stored without
guarantor. This patch adds new method validate_guarantor and adjusts
old guarantor requirements tests to match this new method.
To test:
1. Select option "Creating a patron" in "TrackLastPatronActivityTriggers" syspref.
2. Enable syspref "ChildNeedsGuarantor" and make sure you have options in
"borrowerRelationship" syspref.
3. Create a guarantee patron, fill all required fields and add guarantor for patron
(either add Patron guarantor or fill Non-patron guarantor inputs).
4. Attempt to save patron.
=> Error box is displayed with text "The following fields are wrong. Please fix them.".
=> Logs show error "Patron creation failed! - [Child patron needs a guarantor]".
5. Apply this patch.
6. Create a guarantee patron again and save.
=> Patron should be saved correctly.
7. Create a new guarantee patron but this time don't add patron guarantor or fill
non-patron guarantor inputs.
8. Attempt to save patron.
=> Save should fail with error "A child patron needs a guarantor."
9. Add patron guarantor who can also be a guarantee and save.
=> Save should fail with error "A guarantor cannot be a guarantee."

Use should use coded_values for the library and item type column so that
we can search using the code and the description.
With this patch we now have a dropdown list with the libraries and item
types in the table's headers.
Test plan:
0. Turn on AllowHoldItemTypeSelection
1. Create a hold and select an item type
Note: I think there is a bug if you select it from "Hold next available
item", use "Hold details". Please confirm?

When editing a library which has an associated OpacLibraryInfo HTML
customization the "Edit HTML content" link passes the wrong id
parameter.
To test, apply the patch and restart services.
- Rebuild OPAC CSS.
- Go to Administration -> Libraries.
- Edit a library.
- If there is no OpacLibraryInfo customization associated with that
library, add at least two OpacLibraryInfo entries and then return to
the library edit form.
- By the "OPAC information" label you should see all of the
OpacLibraryInfo entries you added for that library.
- If you have permission to edit HTML customizations you should see
an edit link.
- Test each to confirm that it opens the correct entry for editing.
- Return to Administration -> Libraries and click the library name to
view it (rather than edit).
- The correct HTML customizations should appear. If you have permission
to edit HTML customizations you should see corresponding "Edit" links.
- Test each to confirm that it opens the correct entry for editing.
- In the OPAC, locate a bibliographic record which has one or more items
from the library you added OpacLibraryInfo to.
- In the holdings table, click the one of the library links to trigger
the info modal.
- Confirm that all the correct information displays.
- Go to "Libraries" link in the menu under the quick search bar.
- Click the library you modified. Confirm that the correct
OpacLibraryInfo entries display.

The Koha_Main_OS1 and Koha_Main_OS2 jobs are currently failing on
Jenkins.
```
[NoNodes] ** No nodes are available: [http://es:9200], called from sub Search::Elasticsearch::Role::Client::Direct::__ANON__ at /kohadevbox/koha/Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch/Indexer.pm line 417. # Looks like your test exited with 11 just after 3.
```
We need to workaround Elasticsearch/OpenSearch product check
incompatibility.
This patch suggests to monkey-patch
Search::Elasticsearch::Role::Cxn::process_response to disable the strict
product header check at runtime. This allows the same codebase to talk
to both Elasticsearch 8+ and OpenSearch without forking or patching
upstream.
Test plan:
0. Set KOHA_ELASTICSEARCH=yes in ktd's .env
1. Startup ktd with the compose file for OS1
ktd -f docker-compose.os1.yml up
2. Set SearchEngine=Elasticsearch
3. reindex
ktd --shell
perl misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -a -b
4. run the tests
prove -r t/db_dependent/Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch
5. search!
http://localhost:8081/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/search.pl?q=perl
should show results
6. ktd down then repeat using the compose file for OS2 (docker-compose.os2.yml), ES6 and ES7
for ES6 and ES7 you can use the --es6 and --es7 ktd flag.
IF you get a 403 during the reindex you can try to add
cluster.routing.allocation.disk.threshold_enabled: "false"
to the environment section of the compose file.
Or
```
curl -X PUT http://es:9200/_cluster/settings \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{
"persistent": {
"cluster.blocks.create_index": false
}
}'
```
OS thinks we lack disk space and force all indices into read-only.

1. Configure Koha with: AutoEmailNewUser = "Send" and create a mandatory extended attribute that will cause validation to fail; for example, set for the attribute to display in the OPAC, to be editable in the OPAC, and to be mandatory. That means this bug must be tested before Bug 40220, where the validation failure is resolved.
2. Setup your Postman, or any other mock API software, to obtain an OAuth token (/api/v1/oauth/token) and to register a patron (/api/v1/patrons).
3. With the OAuth token, send a POST request to /api/v1/patrons with valid patron data and invalid or missing mandatory extended attribute data.
4. Observe the API response with the 400 error and notice that the welcome email was delviered despite the fact that no patron account was created.

CGI.pm 4.68 (shipped with Debian 13/Trixie) changed the behavior of
self_url() to include a trailing slash when there's no path component.
This causes OAI-PMH tests to fail as they expect URLs without trailing

OAI responses and the baseURL field in Identify responses to maintain
compatibility across CGI.pm versions.

Since bug 26744 was upstreamed when you use the Import patron tool or the import_patrons.pl script from the commandline and pass a preserve-extended-attributes parameter the borrowerlogs inaccurately have an entry added where the attribute 'before' value is empty.
Test plan:
1. Create a patron attribute type named 'INSTID': Koha administration > Patrons and circulation > Patron attribute types > New patron attribute type.
2. Download the patron started CSV from: Tools > Import patrons > click the 'Download a Starter CSV file with all the columns.' link
3. Save values in the: cardnumber, surname, firstname, branchcode, categorycode, auth_method, lang, and patron_attributes columns
4. Make sure your value in the patron_attributes column is INSTID:1234
5. Import this csv file:
cd misc
./import_patrons.pl --file <filename>.csv --matchpoint cardnumber --default branchcode=CPL --overwrite --preserve-extended-attributes --verbose --verbose --confirm
6. Navigate to the patron account in your browser
7. Click 'Modification log' and observe how many entries there are
8. Repeat step 5
9. Notice there is a new entry in your Modification log with an info column value of: { "attribute.INSTID" : { "after" : "1234", "before" : "" } }
10. Repeat step 5 and notice another new entry in the Modification log with an empty "before" value
11. Apply patch
12. Repeat step 5 and notice no new entry in the Modification log
13. Edit your csv and change the patron_attributes value to: INSTID:5678
14. Repeat step 5 and notice the new modification log entry with an info column value of: { "attribute.INSTID" : { "after" : "5678", "before" : "1234" } }
15. Add another new patron attribute type to your Koha named 'home'
16. edit your csv and change the patron_attributes value to: INSTID:5678,home:town

This enhancement ensures the due date stored in items.onloan is changed when a recall causes a checkout due date to change.
To test:
1. Enable UseRecalls syspref and set corresponding circulation rules:
- Recalls allowed
- Recalls per record
- On shelf recalls allowed - set to "If any unavailable"
- Recall due date interval - set to 1
- Recall pickup period
2. Check out an item to a patron (Patron A)
2a. Make sure this patron has a primary email address set
2b. Check the patron's messaging preferences - make sure this patron has the 'Email' checkbox checked for the 'Return recalled item' notice
3. Go to Tools -> Notices & slips and find the RETURN_RECALLED_ITEM notice. In the Email notice, change "[% checkout.date_due | $KohaDates %]" to "[% item.onloan | $KohaDates %]" and Save.
4. Log into the OPAC as another patron
5. Search for the item checked out in step 2, and place a recall on that item
6. Search for that item in the staff interface
=> Note that the item status says, "Checked out to <patron>: due <tomorrow>"
7. Create the following SQL report in the reports module, using the barcode of the item that was recalled:
SELECT onloan FROM items WHERE barcode='xxxxxxxxx'
8. Run the report
=> The onloan value is still set to the item's original due date, not the updated due date of tomorrow
9. Go to Patron A's account again and view their Notices tab. Click on the 'Notification to return a recalled item'
=> The original due date is used in the notice.
10. Apply the patch and restart services
11. Reset to run the tests again:
- Check in the item, but do not confirm the recall in the pop-up
- Go to the biblio detail page and cancel the recall
12. Repeat steps 2 to 5.
13. Run your report again (step 8)
=> The onloan value should now show the updated due date of tomorrow
14. View Patron A's latest 'Notification to return a recalled item' notice (step 9)
=> The updated due date should be used in the notice.

Due to a bug in PDF::API2 or related libraries,
you cannot export a PDF if you do not have write
permission on the PDF template. We bypass this
problem by taking a string copy of the PDF template
and working on that instead.
Test plan:
0. DO NOT APPLY THE PATCH YET
1. chmod 444 /kohadevbox/koha/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/pdf/*.pdf
2. Create a basket with a vendor
3. Add an order to the basket
4. Close basket (and attach the basket to a new basket group with the same name)
5. Go to "Closed" tab and click "Export as PDF"
6. Note that you get an error when you try to open it in Adobe or some other PDF program
7. Apply the patch and restart koha (e.g. koha-plack --restart kohadev)
8. Try to "Export as PDF" again
9. Note that this time there is no warning and your PDF opens just fine
10. Repeat the "Export as PDF" process for every option of the
system preference "OrderPdfFormat". Every option should work
without errors.
11. Celebrate!

So it is done before the other use statements.
Also uniformize the pattern, must now be:
```
use Modern::Perl;
use base 'Exporter';
BEGIN {
our @EXPORT_OK = qw(subroutine list);
}
This patch introduces a new unique restriction type 'FINES' specifically
for the debar_patrons_with_fines.pl script to prevent duplicate
restrictions on repeated runs.
The original fix used 'SUSPENSION' but this conflicted with the
fine-in-days feature which uses SUSPENSION for time-limited restrictions
when overdue items are returned. Running the script would overwrite
those time-limited restrictions with indefinite ones.
Changes:
- Add new 'FINES' system restriction type to patron_restriction_types.yml
for new installations
- Create database update to add 'FINES' type to existing installations
- Update debar_patrons_with_fines.pl to use 'FINES' instead of 'SUSPENSION'
- Update AddUniqueDebarment and DelUniqueDebarment POD documentation
This keeps SUSPENSION exclusively for the fine-in-days feature while
preventing duplicate restrictions from the fines script.
Test plan:
1. Run database update
2. Verify new FINES restriction type exists in restriction_types table
3. Run debar_patrons_with_fines.pl multiple times
4. Confirm only one FINES restriction per patron (no duplicates)
5. Verify SUSPENSION restrictions from fine-in-days are not affected
6. Run tests: prove t/db_dependent/Patron/Borrower_Debarments.t
We should not allow anonymizing patrons with failed login attempts
when the pref FailedLoginAttempts has not been set.
Test plan:
Run the test again from the previous patch. This should pass now.
Choose a patron with a positive value (say 55) in borrowers.login_attempts
or modify one. (NOTE: This patron will be anonymized in the test plan.)
Empty pref value for FailedLoginAttempts.
Set PatronAnonymizeDelay to 1.
Fill dateexpiry for this patron to yesterday.
Run cleanupdatabase.pl -confirm -v and check if the patron was NOT anonymized.
* Anonymized 0 patrons
Now set FailedLoginAttempts to a value (say 55) so that the patron is
considered as locked. (This unrealistic value is for testing only.)
MAKE SURE that you will not be anonymizing more patrons than you like
in the next step! (Set login_attempts to value < 55 for all other patrons.)
Run cleanupdatabase.pl -confirm -v again and check if the patron was anonymized.
* Anonymized 1 patrons
Restore the changed pref values.
The changes to Schema files are fixes that were overlooked originally.
The 'die' line in C4/SIP/Sip/Configuration.pm is to force the script to die if SIP configuration does not exist, which only happens when running pod_coverage.t
The original code (prior to 37893) did not consider the possibiliy of a config_file being invalid or undef, parser->XMLin(config_file) died silently, but because pod_coverage.t skips over files that die, it didn't fail. See bug 41271.
Now, with the changes from bug 37893, if a config_file doesnt exist the code falls back to whats in the cache, so it doesn't try to XMLin load an invalid config_file anymore, and fails verbosely.
This follow-up removes the security vulnerability of storing plaintext
passwords in the sip_accounts table. The SIP2 system now relies entirely
on Koha's secure password authentication.
Changes:
- Remove plaintext password comparison from login_core() and telnet_transport()
- Remove login_password column from sip_accounts table
- Update database schema files and atomic update
- Remove password field from API definitions and Vue form
- Update all tests to remove login_password references
Authentication now works in two stages:
1. Access control: Check if userid exists in sip_accounts (allowlist)
2. Authentication: Validate password against hash in borrowers table
This maintains SIP access control while eliminating plaintext password
storage. Staff users authenticate with their Koha password (securely hashed).
Test plan:
1. Run updated tests to verify they pass
2. Verify SIP2 authentication works with staff user credentials
3. Confirm no plaintext passwords are stored
