I have added the "Check for previous checkouts" option to item types. This option is visible only when the system preference "CheckPrevCheckout" is set to either :
- "Unless overridden by patron category or by item type, do"
or
- "Unless overridden by patron category or by item type, do not."
This option takes precedence over patron and patron category preferences.
TEST PLAN
1) Apply the patch.
2) Perform an atomic update (installer/data/mysql/updatedatabase.pl)
3) Set the "CheckPrevCheckout" system preference to "Unless overridden by patron category or by item type, do".
4) Go to "Koha administration > Item types > + New item type".
5) Fill in the necessary fields; the "Check for previous checkouts" field should be set to "Inherit from system preferences".
6) Click the "Save changes" button.
7) Create an item with the type you have created.
8) Check out this item for a patron, then check it in.
9) Check out the same item for the same patron again.
10) The message "Patron has previously checked out this title: <Title>. Check out anyway?" should appear.
11) Go to "Koha administration > Item types".
12) Edit the created item type.
13) Change the value of the "Check for previous checkouts" field to "No and try to override system preferences".
14) Click the "Save changes" button.
15) Check out the same item for the same patron.
16) The message should not appear.
17) Run the tests "Borrower_PrevCheckout.t" (prove t/db_dependent/Patron/Borrower_PrevCheckout.t) and "ItemTypes.t" (prove t/db_dependent/Koha/ItemTypes.t).
18) Verify that all tests pass successfully.

When NotifyPasswordChange is enabled and GetPreparedLetter fails to find
a PASSWORD_CHANGE letter template, the set_password method was returning
early with undef, preventing the password from being changed.
This fixes the issue by:
1. Removing the 'or return;' statement after GetPreparedLetter
2. Wrapping the letter processing in an if block to handle missing templates
3. Ensuring password change continues regardless of notification success
The password change should not fail just because the notification cannot
be sent. The notification is a nice-to-have feature, but the core
functionality (changing the password) should always work.
Test plan:
1. Apply the tests patch
2. Run:
$ ktd --shell
k$ prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Patron.t
=> FAIL: Tests fail!
3. Apply this patch
4. Repeat 2
=> SUCCESS: Tests pass!
5. Verify that when the letter template exists, notifications are still sent
6. Verify that when NotifyPasswordChange is disabled, password changes work

The first motivation of this patch is to remove the following warnings
from t/db_dependent/Auth.t:
Use of uninitialized value $anonymous_patron in string eq at /kohadevbox/koha/C4/Auth.pm line 1497
Actually a correct fix seems to add a new `is_anonymous` method to
Koha::Patron in order to remove the warnings from everywhere else.
Test plan:
Confirm that you cannot log in using the anonymous patron and that the 2
tests are passing

This patch adds a new method to the `Koha::Patron` class.
As described in the POD, this method makes checks on the patron's
current situation and returns a boolean telling if it should be allowed
to place holds. This doesn't check specific item/biblio holdability. It
only covers patron specific conditions that could prevent holds to be
placed.
Both in `opac-reserve.pl` and `reserve/request.pl` this checks are all
run, and all blocking situations are presented to the UI user. Feedback
in community (so far) expressed this is a desirable situation, so that
behavior can be retained with the use of the `no_short_circuit`
parameter.
If `no_short_circuit` is not passed, then the routine will return on the
first blocking condition it finds.
An `overrides` parameter is added, allowing to be passed a list of
strings that match the possible error messages.
This way, this method can be asked not to check for patron expiration,
for example, and things like that. This is of course designed with the
API overrides use case in mind.

The patches on this bug add the ability for staff members to set the patron expiry notice as mandatory at the category level. When set, the cronjob will automatically send an expiry notice regardless of existing messaging preferences. If it is turned off, the old messaging preferences will still be in place and actioned
Test plan:
1) Apply patch and run updatedatabase
2) In system preferences set MembershipExpiryDaysNotice to 5
3) Choose a patron and edit their expiry date to today's date, ensuring they have a primary email set
4) Create a MEMBERSHIP_EXPIRY notice (content of the notice is irrelevant, just needs to exist)
5) Run perl misc/cronjobs/membership_expiry.pl -c -v -before 10 -after 10
6) Check the patron's messages, there should be no expiry notice queued
7) Set the patron's category 'enforce expiry notice' field to Yes
8) Repeat step 5, there should be a notice queued
9) Set that patron's primary contact method to primary email and run step 5 again
10) There should be a notice queued for an email
11) Set the category level enforce expiry notice back to No
12) Choose a second patron and set an email address, expiry date to today and set the patron expiry messaging preference for that patron to 'email'
13) Repeat step 5 - this time only one notice should be queued on the second patron, no new notice should queue for the first
14) Re-set the category level option to Yes
15) Repeat step 5 - this time both patron's should have notices queued
16) Unset the category level option again, the behaviour should be the same as step 13
17) Set the category level option back to Yes and check the patron messaign preferences menus in both the OPAC and Staff client - the patron expiry option should not be visible while the cateogry level enforcement is set to Yes

If syspref CheckPrevCheckout is enabled, Koha checks if patron
has previously checked out item within timeperiod set in
syspref CheckPrevCheckoutDelay. This however doesn't take into
account cases where item is currently checked out for patron and
they are trying to check out another item from same record (can
be done if syspref AllowMultipleIssuesOnABiblio is enabled). We
should always check if item is currently checked out for the

2. Find a record that has been checked out for patron over 10 days ago.
3. Attempt to check out item from same record for same patron.

4. Find record that is currently checked out for a patron.
5. Attempt to check out item from same record for same patron.
=> Note that item is checked out for patron without confirm message.
6. Apply this patch and restart services if needed.
7. Repeat steps 2. and 3.
=> Confirm that you still have to confirm if you want to check out

Log non-repeatable attributes and only log changes and creations, not deletions.
When changed, attributes are first all deleted, then the relevant ones are recreated.

only the attributes that have changed (with before/after content). This makes it impossible
to log actual deletions.

This patch adds a new field 'preferred_name' to the patron record.
On storage (creation or update) the preferred_name is set to the firstname if no

On the item list of the bib detail page and the patron search we want
the library columns ('holding library', 'home library' and 'library') to
be sorted by library names and to make them searchable on library id and
name.
Concerns about this approach (comment #8):
"""
If we do it for the library names on this view, we need to do it for all the library columns (thinking about patrons right now but I am sure there are others). And to be consistent, for all the other coded values: "special AVs" (item types, cn source), regular AVs, patron category codes, etc.
We will introduce additional JOINs and so maybe performance problems. This needs to be investigated before we take this route IMO.

This patch attempts to force a password change for new staff created patrons.
This is done by setting the password_expiration_date to an expired date when
adding a new patron. This patch adds a new system preference
'ForcePasswordResetWhenSetByStaff' and a new column to the categories table
'force_password_reset_when_set_by_staff.
To test:
1) Apply patch, restart_all, updatedatabase, and also be sure to update schema.
2) Visit Administration->Sytem Preferences and search for 'EnableExpiredPasswordReset'.
Make sure this is set to enable. Now search for 'ForcePasswordResetWhenSetByStaff'.
This should be defaulted to 'Don't force'.
3) Keep that tab open and visit Administration->Patron categories. Click on edit
on the Board category. Noitce that there is a now a 'Force new patron password reset'
section. Notice that the by default, this is set to follow the
ForcePasswordResetWhenSetByStaff system preference (currently set to don't force).
Click on the dropdown and change it to 'Force'. Save changes
4) Click on the Patrons tab to visit members-home.pl and then click 'New Patron'.
Select on Patron. Fill in the required information and also enter a password.
5) Submit this form and notice that the patron's password expiration date is set
to never. This should be the case because the default for 'Force new patron
password reset' follows the sys. pref. which is still set to 'Don't force' (You
could have some expiry date in this step, but it should at least be set to a
date that is not expired. this depends on whether or not you have a defalut
password expiration date set in patron categories )
6) Log into the OPAC with this patron and notice it works as expected and log in
was successful.
7) Go back to the patron home page and click to add a new patron. This time select
'Board'. Once again fill out the required info, enter a password, and then save
the form.
8) Notice that for this patron, the password expiration date is set for today's
date. This is because we changed the setting for the 'Board' patron category to
force.
9) Log into the OPAC with this patron. You should be redirected to a page with an
error that says: "It's your first login! You need to reset your password." Click
on the reset password link below this message.
10) You should be sent to a page where you can reset your password. Fill in the
form and click 'Update password'. Attempt to sign into the OPAC with this new
password. Everything works as expected.
11) Go back to the staff interface and view this patron's detail page. Notice the
password expiration date is now set to what the default is in the patron
category.
12) Edit this patrons information and set their password expiration date to
yesterday. Go back to the OPAC and try to sign in with this patron again. Note
that this time, you are also redirected but the message says "Error: Your
password has expired!"
13) Go back to the staff interface and visit the sys. pref tab we left open. Set
it to the 'Force' option and save changes.
14) Visit the patron home page and click add patron, now select the patron
category again. Fill in required info and enter password. Submit form and note
that the patron's password expiration date is set to today. Try to login to
the OPAC with this patron, you should be redirected to the page with the error
that says "Error: It's your first login! You need to reset your password."

The current code only handled a single layer of groups - top level setting the features, and libraries directly
underneath.
The code, however, was not correctly checking the features, and was limiting to single like when no restrictions found.
This patch gets the root ancestor for a group, checks the desired feature against than group, then fetches all children
of the current group and makes them allowed - i.e. when a library is in a group, all siblings and descendants in that group
or subgroups can be accessed

When trying to edit items, we are seeing the button visibility affected by a patron's
permission to view patrons form any library.
This is because can_edit_items_from is calling can_see_things_from - which is ultimately calling
libraries_where_can_see_patrons
That last call should be to libraries_where_can_see_things. This patch corrects that, and passes forward the group feature to check against
To test:
Set up library group:
* Create a library group for library A + B
* Action: Limit item editing by group
Set up test user:
* Create a staff patron with these permissions:
* catalogue
* fast_cataloguing
* edit_items
* view_borrower_infos_from_any_libraries
* edit borrowers
* Home library: library A
Set up test items:
* Create a record with 3 items with different home libraries:
* A
* B
* C
We expect the user will be allowed to edit A and B, but not C.
Test:
* Test editing the items with the test user, only A is allowed to be edited.
* Remove the view_borrower_infos_from_any_libraries permission from test user.
* Test editing items now behaves as expected: A + B are allowed, C is not.

This is not perfect but its all I have time for, for now. Follow-ups are welcomed as always.

[SQUASHED IN QA]
These patches will alter the checks for a patron that prevent a category with
'can_be_guarantee' from being a guarantor. Two patrons in the same category should be
allowed to have a guarantee/guarantor relationship
The tests below assume you are using the KTD sample data. Update borrowernumbers if not.
To test:
0 - Apply tests patch
1 - Set the 'Patron' category as 'Can be a guarantee'
2 - Add a relationship between two patrons of the same category
This is restricted from the staff interface
perl -e 'use Koha::Patrons; my $p = Koha::Patrons->find(5)->add_guarantor({ guarantor_id => 23, relationship => 'father'});'
3 - Note there is no warning or exception. This should be allowed.
4 - Checkout an item to Edna (borrowernumber 5)
5 - Set 'TrackLastPatronActivityTriggers' to 'Checking in an item'
6 - Try to check the item in, KABOOM
7 - Set 'TrackLastPatronActivityTriggers' to 'Checking out an item'
8 - Try to issue an item to Enda, KABOOM
9 - prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Patron.t, fail
10 - Apply second patch
11 - prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Patron.t, one more test passes, but then fail
12 - Apply third patch
13 - prove -v t/db_dependent/Koha/Patron.t, pass!
14 - restart_all
15 - Checkout to Enda, OK!
16 - Checkin from Edna, OK!
17 - Find two more patrons in the category and attempt to link them
18 - 'Guarantor cannot be a guarantee'
19 - Apply fourth patch
20 - You can add a guarantor from the same category in interface
21 - Try to add a guarantor to the guarantor assigned in 20
22 - Confirm you cannot add a guarantor - "Guarantor cannot be a guarantee"

1. Create a patron attribute.
2. Check it as Mandatory.
3. Do NOT make it display or editable in the OPAC.
4. Go to OPAC self reg form
5. You will not see the attribute.
6. Submit the form and see the 500 error.
7. Apply patch, restart_all.
8. Try again, now you should be able to submit the OPAC form.

Renewals or automatic renewal attempts can change the timestamp of an issue and cause a sort
on this field to functionally randomize the order of checkouts returned.
Prior to bug 19935 the GetPendingCheckouts routine returned items in issuedate order.
Removing the sort on timestamp will return the previous behaviour and provide a more predictable sorting
To test:
1 - Checkout some items to a patron
2 - Print a checkout slip - items are in the order they were checked out
3 - Renew an item,print the slip again it is now at the top of the list
4 - Apply patch, restart_all
5 - Print slip again - the items are now ordered in the order they were checked out.

This patchset makes:
* The EmailFieldPrimary value 'OFF' be replaced by an empty string
* Koha::Patron->notice_email_address() handle the empty case more
gracefully
To test:
1. On main, manually set the EmailFieldPrimary syspref to empty
$ ktd --shell
k$ koha-mysql kohadev
> UPDATE systempreferences SET value='' WHERE variable='EmailFieldPrimary';
2. Enable `AutoEmailNewUser`
3. Create a new user
=> FAIL: Koha explodes like:
```
The method Koha::Patron-> is not covered by tests!
Trace begun at /kohadevbox/koha/Koha/Object.pm line 992
Koha::Object::AUTOLOAD('Koha::Patron=HASH(0xaaaae37ac550)') called at /kohadevbox/koha/Koha/Patron.pm line 1662
Koha::Patron::notice_email_address('Koha::Patron=HASH(0xaaaae37ac550)') called at /kohadevbox/koha/members/memberentry.pl line 448
...
4. Apply this patches
5. Run:
k$ updatedatabase
=> SUCCESS: Update succeeds
6. Restart all and retry creating a patron
=> SUCCESS: It worked!
Library staff - whose patron category has a type='Staff' should be able to have guarantees added.
Test plan:
1) Create a 'Library staff' patron category with 'Category type' = 'Staff'
2) Create a patron account using the 'Library staff' patron category
3) Notice the '+ Add guarantee' button is not displayed in the members toolbar for the 'Library staff' patron you created
4) Apply patches and restart services
5) Refresh your browser window
6) Notice the '+ Add guarantee' button is now displaying for the 'Library staff' patron
7) Confirm you can successfully add a guarantee
8) Run unit test t/db_dependent/Koha/Patrons.t
The subroutine libraries_where_can_see_things stores the list of libraries that things
can be viewed from in an internal variable, so we can return this directly if we have already calculated.
When returning if not cached, we dereference the list and return an array. If cached, we are returning
an arrayref. This patch simply ensures we dereference the array even if already cached.
Before this patch, we were fetching the patrons, then redacting all info as their branches didn't match against
an arrayref, rather than checking against each branch we are allowed to view.
To test:
1. Setup a library group and check the "Limit patron data access by group ." option.
2. Add some libraries to the group. ( IN k-t-d I added CPL and MPL )
3. Create a staff account who has staff access permissions and all of the borrower permissions except "view_borrower_infos_from_any_libraries"
4. Set the home library of that staff member to one of the branches in step 2. ( In my test I choose MPL )
5. Log in as that patron and attempt a patron search that would include users from either library in step 2.
6. See the error:
Something went wrong when loading the table.
500: Internal Server Error.
