prepare_cgi_additional_field_values needs to consider a field value as empty, because a MARC get field will always be submitted empty, and then picked up and handled by set_additional_fields accordingly.
But because we don't want to polute the database with tons of empty additional fields if many empty repeatable fields were submitted in the UI, the check for empty value still happens, but only after the MARC get check has happen, not before.

Move get_effective_expire_reserves_charge as a new method
in Koha::CirculationRules to retrieve the effective value of the rule,
which means it will get the value from existing circulation rule and
if it doesn't exist or set to undefined it will get the default
value from the preferences.
Also added tests for this logic.

The tests can go where the existing cancellation charge tests are.
If we define the default rule we do not need to delete all circulation rules
as the itemtypes and branches are all created for the tests
The rule should not be saved if blank, this allows simplifying the logic
when getting the charge

At the point where 'ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelayCharge' can/should kick
in, we should already have an item waiting (else what's triggered a pickup
delay). As such we can drop the fall through default of using the syspref
when we don't yet have an item.
We can also save us some calculations and database hits by only
calculating the charge value when we've actually been asked to charge.
So we also move the block inside the 'charge_cancel_fee' block.

Add a feature that allows to define ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelayCharge
in circulation rules per specific items/patron categories.
When value not found in circulation rules it uses global
ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelayCharge, as it was before this smart-rules
feature was introduced.
To check the feature after applying the patch:
1) Go to /cgi-bin/koha/admin/preferences.pl and set
ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelay to allow.
1) Go to /cgi-bin/koha/admin/smart-rules.pl circulation rules table
and notice the newly added "Expire reserve charge" row.
2) In that row add numerical values to type/patron categories
that you will be using later to test this feature.
3) Prepare an item for our next step, pick a biblio that has item
with the same item type you altered in smart rules and check it out.
3) Place a hold on that item and set the expiration date as the
next day.
4) Check in it after that.
5) Do SQL request to change expiration date manually to "yesterday":
in "reserves" table, find the id of the hold that you placed and
"UPDATE reserves SET `expirationdate`='2020-07-19' WHERE
`reserve_id`=329;"
Or alternatively:
5) Wait for tomorrow, change server time or invent a time machine.
6) Run cancel_expired_holds.pl cron job.
7) Check that patron got charged in "accounting" left tab and
"transactions" upper tab: your patron should have debt of that amount
of fee you assigned in that rule
(/cgi-bin/koha/members/boraccount.pl?borrowernumber=...YourPatronID...)
8) You can repeat this with other rules and different
numbers/biblio/item types to check that different fees apply according
to smart rules.
9) If there's no matching smart rule or smart rule have an empty
string as a fee - global ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelayCharge variable
value will be used.
10) But in case if matching rule has zero ("0") as a value - that
allows to have no-fee smart-rule results, as a feature.
IMPORTANT:
Smart-rules filters only applied to item-level holds when item-type
for items is known. If there's biblio-level hold, in that case global
ExpireReservesMaxPickUpDelayCharge value will be used).

The REST API can return translated strings to the opac or staff
interface, so it should respect the KohaOpacLanguage cookie and return
translations in the same language than the interface.
Test plan:
1. Do not apply patch yet
2. Log in to koha staff interface
3. Use the browser's devtools to get the value of CGISESSID cookie
4. Make sure you have at least 2 languages installed ('en' + another
one - I'll use 'fr-FR' as an example in this test plan)
5. Find an item and note its itemnumber and itemtype
6. Go translate this itemtype's description (admin » item types » edit
item type » translate). Add a translation for 'en' and another one
for your language.
7. Close your browser tab (do not logout) and restart Koha to flush the
memory cache.
8. Execute the following commands (replace variables by the correct
value):
curl -sSL "$KOHA_URL/api/v1/items/$ITEMNUMBER" \
-H 'x-koha-embed: +strings' \
-H "Cookie: KohaOpacLanguage=en; CGISESSID=$CGISESSID" \
| jq -r '._strings.item_type_id.str'
If you do not have jq, it can be found in most distributions
packages. Or you could inspect the JSON manually at the path
/_strings/item_type_id/str
Restart Koha again, and execute the same command but with your
language set in KohaOpacLanguage cookie:
curl -sSL "$KOHA_URL/api/v1/items/$ITEMNUMBER" \
-H 'x-koha-embed: +strings' \
-H "Cookie: KohaOpacLanguage=fr-FR; CGISESSID=$CGISESSID" \
| jq -r '._strings.item_type_id.str'
Depending on how Koha sort the languages (not sure how it's done),
you should get either the 'en' one or the 'fr-FR' one, but the
important thing is you should get the same translation, no matter
what the value of KohaOpacLanguage is, which is the issue this patch
is trying to fix.
9. Apply the patch and restart Koha
10. Repeat step 8. This time you should get the translation
corresponding to the language set in KohaOpacLanguage cookie
Side note:
* The need to restart Koha before each request is due to a bug (see bug
38454). If already pushed when you're testing this one, you don't have
to restart.

After Bug 38416 Elasticsearch indexing explodes with oversized
records, especially with UTF encoded data.
In Koha::SearchEngine::Elasticsearch::marc_records_to_documents a
following snippet has been introduced:
my $usmarc_record = $record->as_usmarc();
my $decoded_usmarc_record = MARC::Record->new_from_usmarc($usmarc_record);
But if $record is oversized (> 99999 bytes), it is OK for MARC::Record
object, but not for $record->as_usmarc. The produced ISO 2709 string
is not correct and hence cannot be properly converted back to
MARC::Record object by new_from_usmarc.
The result in this case can be like:
UTF-8 "\x85" does not map to Unicode at /usr/share/perl5/MARC/File/Encode.pm line 35.
Since it is done without any eval / try, the whole reindex procedure
(for instance rebuild_elasticsearch.pl) is being randomly interrupted
with no explanation.
Test plan:
==========
Hard to reproduce. But the explanation together with discussion in Bug
38416 (from 2024-12-15) explains and justifies the need of this added
eval.
1. Have a standard KTD installation with Elasticsearch.
2. Use the provided test record - add it to Koha with
./misc/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl -b -file test.xml -m=MARCXML
(have patience).
During load process you should see a message like:
UTF-8 "\xC4" does not map to Unicode at /usr/share/perl5/MARC/File/Encode.pm line 35.
3. The record should get biblionumber 439. Check in librarian interface with
http://<your_addreess>:8081/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber=439
that the record has been imported.
However, you should not be able to make a search for this record.
4. Try to reindex with:
./misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -b -bn 439
You should get a message like:
UTF-8 "\xC4" does not map to Unicode at /usr/share/perl5/MARC/File/Encode.pm line 35.
Again, no search results.
5. Apply the patch ; restart_all.
6. Repeat reindex with:
./misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -b -bn 439
There should be no warning now and you should be able to find the record.

2) Set AllowHoldPolicyOverride to Allow
3) Create a hold on an item for a patron
4) Navigate to the patron's page and click on the holds tab
5) Click the dropdown in pickup locations
6) There will be two results, repeated three times
7) Apply patch and restart_all
8) Repeat step 5, there should now be a full list of 12 libraries

This patch removes the search clause for
extended_attributes when there is no patron
attribute types which are searchable by default.
The clause was incorrectly added because the array
extended_attribute_types was rendered as [""] in
the template patron-search.inc most likely due to
a bug in DBIx::Class.
Test plan:
* Make sure that no borrower attribute type is set to "searched by default"
in Koha administration -> Patron attribute types.
* Enable the network monitring in the developer tools in your web browser
(Ctrl + Shift + E in firefox or Ctrl + Shift + I and select the "Network"
tab).
* Go to the patrons view members-home.pl (click patrons in top menu bar).
* Search for a string that will match multiple borrowers (to not be automatically
redirected)
* Examine the ajax-request and make sure that "extended_attributes.code" is NOT
part of the query.

To test:
1. APPLY PATCH, restart_all
2. Pick a framework, I choose BKS in k-t-d
3. Make sure that a few date and datetime fields are exposed in the editor.
4. On additem.tt a date picker should be instantiated on the date or datetime fields.
5. Make sure the date pickers work on each field.
6. If it is a datetime field you should have the option to add hours and minutes. ( datelastseen )
7. Edit the framework and remove the dateaccessioned.pl plugin from any of these date fields.
8. Even without the dateaccessioned.pl plugin a date picker should be present on the field.
9. Add the dateaccessioned.pl plugin to a non date/datetime field.
10. Make sure the dateaccessioned.pl plugin works properly on the non date/datetime field.
11. Mark one of the date/datetime fields as mandatory, make sure it still acts as mandatory.
12. Hide date/datetime from the editor, make sure it hides properly.

This patch adds functionality for storing the patron (or cronjob) that triggers a harvest. Currently every counter log is stored as being imported by the cronjob
Test plan:
1) In the usage statistics module in ERM, create a data provider (the details in the provider are not important)
2) Click into the provider and click into manual upload
3) Upload the file attached to this bug
4) Once the background job is completed click into the counter logs tab in the provider. The imported by columns should show a user with a clickable link

Dates were incorrectly handled during the first days of the month because of
the use of non-zero-padded days values.

This is no longer used, and should not.
Test plan:
git grep TablesSettings.GetColumns
should not return any results
git grep GetColumns
should not return results related to this method

Test plan:
1) Download the file attached to this bug and save it as a .txt file
2) In the ERM module, create a local package
3) Go to the local titles page and click Import from KBART file
4) Select your package and the saved file and click import
5) The import will fail with just a console error
6) Apply patch and run a restart_all and a yarn js:build
7) Repeat step 4, it should now display an error saying the file must be either TSV or CSV
8) Convert the file to either of those two formats and repeat step 4
9) The file should now import successfully, with a message saying that there is an additional column "bestppn" that will not be imported
