Correct genuine spelling errors identified by the codespell 2.4.x
full scan after the KTD container OS upgrade. Changes are in
comments, POD, strings, and template text across 55 files.
"SAN Ouest Provence" (the French library co-operative and Koha
sponsor) is preserved as a proper noun. Perl copyright lines
receive an inline # codespell:ignore annotation; about.tt files
(contributor attribution pages) are added to the Koha::Devel::Files
codespell exception list so that future uses of "Provence" as a
typo for "Province" are still caught in all other files.
Notable user-visible fixes:
- "submiting" -> "submitting" in authority and bibliographic merge screens
- "deleteable" -> "deletable" in patron exception messages
- "Acquistions" -> "Acquisitions" in reports dictionary
Test plan:
1. Apply patches
2. In the staff interface, go to Cataloguing > Merge records and
confirm the submit button reads "Submitting" (not "Submiting")
3. In the staff interface, go to Authorities > Merge and confirm
the same correction
4. Attempt to delete a patron with outstanding issues and confirm
the error message reads "deletable" (not "deleteable")
5. prove xt/author/codespell.t

This patch addresse the fact Koha needs to strip out stray item field in
MARC records coming from the DB. While this is not ideal, it has worked
so far, limiting the negative effects of bad data to Koha users.
I put a FIXME because I think it deserves to be revisited colectively at
some point. I filed bug 38406 to track the discussion around this.
The `marcmarcrecord2csv.t` tests cover this behavior and I thought
removing it was not in the scope of this bug.
I decided to move the removal one step up in the call chain so it
applies to all calls to `$metadata->record`, not only those that ask to
include items. This is the right thing to do while we keep this
behavior.
To test:
1. Run:
$ ktd --shell
k$ prove t/db_dependent/Record/marcrecord2csv.t
=> FAIL: Item information gets extracted from more items than expected
(i.e. the item in the MARC record is not stripped out so 'Withdrawn'
shows 3 times instead of 2).
2. Apply this patch
3. Repeat 1
=> SUCCESS: Tests pass!
4. Run:
k$ prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Biblio/Metadata.t
=> SUCCESS: Tests pass! The behavior change in $metadata->record works
as intended!

This patch adds a method for retrieving the related *Koha::RecordSource* from a *Koha::Biblio::Metadata* object.

1. Apply this patch
2. Run:

This adds a routine that can strip non xml characters form a record.
It is intended for cases where we do not wish to throw an exception,
but rather need to process a record to allow other work to continue

On bug 29697, an explicit call to 'warn' was added, but no tests were
added for that behavior.
This patch adds that.
To test:
1. Run:

=> FAIL: There's a warn, no tests for it :-(
2. Apply this patch
3. Repeat 1

On bug 17591 we discovered that there was something weird going on with
the way we export and use subroutines/modules.
This patch tries to standardize our EXPORT to use EXPORT_OK only.
That way we will need to explicitely define the subroutine we want to
use from a module.
This patch is a squashed version of:
Bug 17600: After export.pl
Bug 17600: After perlimport
Bug 17600: Manual changes
Bug 17600: Other manual changes after second perlimports run
Bug 17600: Fix tests
And a lot of other manual changes.
export.pl is a dirty script that can be found on bug 17600.
"perlimport" is:
git clone https://github.com/oalders/App-perlimports.git
cd App-perlimports/
cpanm --installdeps .
export PERL5LIB="$PERL5LIB:/kohadevbox/koha/App-perlimports/lib"
find . \( -name "*.pl" -o -name "*.pm" \) -exec perl App-perlimports/script/perlimports --inplace-edit --no-preserve-unused --filename {} \;
The ideas of this patch are to:
* use EXPORT_OK instead of EXPORT
* perltidy the EXPORT_OK list
* remove '&' before the subroutine names
* remove some uneeded use statements
* explicitely import the subroutines we need within the controllers or
modules
Note that the private subroutines (starting with _) should not be
exported (and not used from outside of the module except from tests).
EXPORT vs EXPORT_OK (from
https://www.thegeekstuff.com/2010/06/perl-exporter-examples/)
"""
Export allows to export the functions and variables of modules to user’s namespace using the standard import method. This way, we don’t need to create the objects for the modules to access it’s members.
@EXPORT and @EXPORT_OK are the two main variables used during export operation.
@EXPORT contains list of symbols (subroutines and variables) of the module to be exported into the caller namespace.
@EXPORT_OK does export of symbols on demand basis.
"""
If this patch caused a conflict with a patch you wrote prior to its
push:
* Make sure you are not reintroducing a "use" statement that has been
removed
* "$subroutine" is not exported by the C4::$MODULE module
means that you need to add the subroutine to the @EXPORT_OK list
* Bareword "$subroutine" not allowed while "strict subs"
means that you didn't imported the subroutine from the module:
- use $MODULE qw( $subroutine list );
You can also use the fully qualified namespace: C4::$MODULE::$subroutine
