Three issues caused the EdifactModal_spec.ts test suite to fail:
1. insertSampleEdifactMessages inserted a vendor with listprice='USD' and
invoiceprice='USD', but those columns have FK constraints against the
currency table and USD is not pre-populated in KTD's default install.
Drop the currency columns from the INSERT so they default to NULL.
2. Koha::Edifact::File::vendor() and basket() called
Koha::Acquisition::Bookseller and Koha::Acquisition::Basket without
use-ing them. The edifactmsgs.pl table embeds both on every API call,
so a missing module caused a 500 and an empty table.
3. showMessage() already appended &format=json before delegating to
showMessageFromUrl(), which then appended it a second time. Remove the
redundant copy from showMessage().

* Add Cypress tests to cover the 404 redirect if the pref is disabled
* Add "invoices" as possible embed option for
/acquisitions/vendors/:vendor_id
Seems relevant as the api def for invoice if expecting for it
api/v1/swagger/definitions/invoice.yaml
* Tell insertObject how to generate an invoice and return it.
Unfortunately we don't have a direct route for that, hence the embed
on /vendors/:vendor_id

We moved host/username/password out of vendor_edi_accounts into a
separate file_transports table between PQA and Pushed. Update the
Cypress test fixture to insert a file_transports record first and
reference it via file_transport_id, and clean it up in
deleteSampleEdifactMessages.

This patch adds end-to-end testing for the EDIFACT modal interface,
providing coverage of all user interactions and functionality.
**Test Coverage:**
- Modal display and initialization with proper Bootstrap navbar structure
- View toggle functionality between tree and raw display modes
- Search functionality including navigation, result counting, and highlighting
- Focus functionality for basket and invoice contexts
- Error handling for invalid message IDs and network failures
- Accessibility features including keyboard navigation
- Responsive behavior and modal interaction patterns
**Test Plan:**
1. Apply patch
2. Ensure KTD environment is running with test data
3. Run tests: `npx cypress run --spec "t/cypress/integration/Acquisitions/Edifact*"`
4. **Verify Test Results:**
5. **Manual Verification:**
- All test scenarios reflect real user workflows
- Test data requirements are clearly documented in spec file
- Test data is cleaned up after the tests are run

Bug 23269 added item_group and item_level_holds_count to the hold
response schema (hold.yaml). buildSampleObject reads hold.yaml to
generate test hold objects, so these fields are now included in the
generated object. However, the holds POST endpoint uses an inline
schema with additionalProperties: false that does not include these
fields, causing a 400 validation error when insertSampleHold tries
to create a hold via the API.
Add item_group and item_level_holds_count to the destructuring
strip-list in insertObject so they are excluded from the POST body.

This patch adds detailed JSDoc documentation to all Cypress testing
plugin files.
Documentation added to:
- insertData.js: Data insertion utilities with examples
- api-client.js: API wrapper functions with usage patterns
- mockData.js: Schema-based mock data generation
- auth.js: Authentication helper functions
- db.js: Database query utilities
- readYamlFile.js: YAML file reading utilities
- index.js: Main plugin configuration
Each function now includes:
- Complete parameter descriptions with types
- Return value documentation
- Practical usage examples
- Error conditions and handling
- Module-level overviews
This addresses the documentation gap identified during QA review,
hopefully making it easier for future devs to adopt the new framework of
tools.

Test plan:
Confirm that
yarn cypress run t/cypress/integration/Toolbar_spec.ts
pass, even if you do not have any vendors in DB.

This is the first step toward implementing true end-to-end testing with
Cypress.
Until now, we have been mocking responses using cy.intercept(), but this
approach can lead to confusion. In some cases, we have even had to mock
global JavaScript variables, which makes the code unnecessarily complex
and unconventional (e.g. win.categories_map).
All the bug reports listed under this tree have helped lay the
groundwork for this patch. With it, we are able to build mock objects
(via plugin mockData) and insert them directly into the database
(insertData). Once the tests are complete, we’ll restore the database to
its previous state by removing any data generated during the tests.
The tests in KohaTable/Holdings_spec.ts have been updated to leverage
this new setup.
Additionally, a caching mechanism has been added to prevent _id
attributes from being generated with the same values (a rare issue we
occasionally encountered).
While this is still not a perfect solution, it introduces a solid
foundation for future improvements.
