Nothing ever used either of these files. On systemd hosts koha-sysv
already gets a generated koha-common.service, so shipping its own unit
meant two units driving the same init script. The koha-worker@.service
sample in /etc/koha was a copy-by-hand template that koha-systemd's
real worker unit replaces.

As a continuation of bug 41919, we should limit the total number of simultaneous reports that can be run at a time.
Test Plan:
1) Set total_running_reports_per_instance_limit to 2 in your koha-conf.xml
2) Create 3 long running reports like: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM items i1 JOIN items i2 JOIN items i3 JOIN items i4 JOIN items i5 JOIN items i6
3) Run each report in turn by opening a new tab, browsing to the reports
module, and choosing to run that report
5) Note the first two continue to run, but the last one gives an error
that you have too many reports running simultaneously!

- Centralized Vuex store for state management
- Reusable CirculationTriggersForm component
- API clients for libraries, circulation rules, item types, and patron categories
- Consistent async/await pattern throughout
- Separation of repositories, utilities, and services
- Improved naming consistency and code maintainability
- "Dumb" TriggersTable component for better separation of concerns
Test Plan
Prerequisites
1. Log in to staff interface with appropriate permissions (tools_edit_notice_status_triggers)
2. Ensure you have test data: multiple libraries, patron categories, item types, and notice templates
3. Navigate to Administration > Circulation triggers (new interface)
Part 1: Basic Navigation & Interface
1. Verify the new "Circulation triggers" link appears in Administration home under the Circulation section
2. Access the new interface and confirm it loads successfully
3. Verify the default view shows either "All libraries" or your logged-in library based on DefaultToLoggedInLibraryOverdueTriggers system preference
4. Confirm the interface displays a list of triggers organized by context (library/patron category/item type combinations)
Part 2: Viewing and Filtering Rules
1. Toggle between "All exhaustive rules" and "Explicitly set rules" views
- Verify "All exhaustive rules" shows inherited/fallback rules
- Verify "Explicitly set rules" shows only rules you've specifically configured
2. Test the patron category filter:
- Select a specific patron category
- Confirm only rules for that category are displayed
3. Test the item type filter:
- Select a specific item type
- Confirm only rules for that item type are displayed
4. Test combined filters (patron category + item type simultaneously)
5. Clear filters and verify all rules display again
Part 3: Adding New Triggers
1. Click "Add trigger" button
2. Step 1 - Confirm Context:
- Select Library (required)
- Select Patron category (required)
- Select Item type (required)
- Click "Confirm context"
3. Step 2 - Review Existing Triggers:
- Verify existing triggers for this context are displayed
- Note the trigger numbers and delays
4. Step 3 - Configure New Trigger:
- Enter a delay value (should be constrained by neighboring triggers)
- Try entering an invalid delay (too low or too high) - verify validation
- Set "Restricts checkouts" (Yes/No/Fallback to default)
- Note the placeholder showing the fallback value
- Select a letter template
- Verify only templates for the selected library context appear
- Set "Debarring" options if desired
- Select "Charged notice fees" if applicable
5. Submit the form
6. Verify the new trigger appears in the list without a full page reload
7. Verify success message is displayed
Part 4: Editing Existing Triggers
1. Locate an existing trigger in the list
2. Click the edit icon/button
3. Verify the form pre-populates with existing values
4. Test delay modification:
- Try changing the delay within valid bounds - should succeed
- Try changing delay beyond neighboring triggers - should show validation error
- Use the increment/decrement buttons to adjust delay
5. Test clearing values:
- Clear a field (e.g., delay or restrict checkouts)
- Verify placeholder shows the fallback/default value
- Submit with cleared value - should save as null and inherit fallback
6. Change the letter template to a different valid template
7. Submit changes
8. Verify the trigger updates in the list without full page reload
9. Verify the changes persist after refreshing the page
Part 5: Deleting Triggers
1. Identify a trigger that is the last in its sequence
2. Click the delete button/icon
3. Verify a confirmation dialog appears
4. Confirm deletion
5. Verify the trigger is removed from the list without page reload
6. Verify the deletion persists after page refresh
7. Test delete constraints:
- Try to delete a trigger that's not the last in sequence
- Verify appropriate error/warning message
Part 6: Resetting Rule Sets
1. Locate a context with explicitly set rules (not just inherited)
2. Ensure this is not the only rule set for this trigger sequence
3. Click the "Reset" button for that context
4. Verify confirmation dialog explains what will be reset
5. Confirm the reset
6. Verify the explicit rules are removed and context now shows inherited rules
7. Verify changes persist after page refresh
8. Test reset constraints:
- Try to reset when it would leave no rules for that trigger
- Verify appropriate warning/prevention
Part 7: Context-Specific Behavior
1. Test library-specific letter filtering:
- Create/edit a trigger for a specific library
- Verify only letter templates with matching branchcode or default templates appear
- Switch to a different library context
- Verify the letter list updates accordingly
2. Test default rules:
- View rules for "All libraries" / "All patron categories" / "All item types"
- Verify these are labeled as "Default rule for [context]"
- Confirm these serve as fallback for more specific rules
3. Test DefaultToLoggedInLibraryOverdueTriggers preference:
- Set preference to "Yes"
- Reload circulation triggers page
- Verify it defaults to your logged-in library
- Set preference to "No"
- Verify it defaults to "All libraries"
Part 8: Form Workflow & Validation
1. Test required fields:
- Try submitting add/edit form without selecting library - should fail
- Try submitting without patron category - should fail
- Try submitting without item type - should fail
2. Test stepper navigation:
- Start adding a trigger
- Verify you must confirm context before proceeding
- Verify you see existing triggers before editing/adding
- Verify trigger form only appears after context confirmation
3. Test cancellation:
- Start adding/editing a trigger
- Click Cancel
- Verify you return to the list without changes
- Verify no partial data was saved
Part 9: Loading States & Messages
1. On slow connections or with many rules:
- Verify "Loading context..." appears while fetching context data
- Verify "Loading rule set information..." appears while fetching rules
- Verify section-specific loading messages appear during updates
2. After form submission:
- Verify appropriate success/error messages display
- Verify loading indicators during async operations
Part 10: Permissions
1. Log in as a user without tools_edit_notice_status_triggers permission
2. Verify the "Circulation triggers" link does not appear in Administration
3. Try accessing /cgi-bin/koha/admin/circulation_triggers directly
4. Verify access is denied
Part 11: Data Integrity & Persistence
1. Create a complex set of rules with multiple triggers across different contexts
2. Refresh the page and verify all rules persist
3. Restart the Koha services
4. Verify all rules still display correctly
5. Check the database circulation_rules table:
- Verify rules are stored with correct rule_name pattern (overdue_1_delay, etc.)
- Verify null values are properly stored for inheritance
- Verify the overdue_X_has_rules rule kind is present
Part 12: Edge Cases
1. Test with no existing triggers - verify empty state message
2. Test with maximum trigger sequences (e.g., trigger 1, 2, 3)
3. Test rapid successive edits
4. Test with special characters in letter template names
5. Test browser back/forward buttons during form workflow

Building on bug 41918, it would be good to limit the number of reports
a given user can run at a time. This control is config-file based as
it is tied to the server resources provided by the administrator.
Adds a new koha-conf.xml option total_running_reports_per_user_limit
(0 = disabled). When the configured limit is reached, the user is told
"You have too many reports running at the moment. Please wait for some
of them to finish before running this report again."
Note on implementation: the original patch on bz (attachment 198034)
performed a second pre-flight Koha::Reports->running call in
reports/guided_reports.pl. The bug 41918 QA follow-ups already pushed
the duplicate-running guard into Koha::Report::prep_report so it would
fire across the staff UI, svc/report and opac/svc/report. This patch
extends that same model-layer architecture rather than reintroducing
controller-layer enforcement:
- New Koha::Exceptions::Report::TotalRunning subclass of
Koha::Exceptions::Report.
- prep_report now performs a second check after the duplicate one and
throws TotalRunning when the user has total_running_reports_per_user_limit
reports of any kind already in flight.
- All three callers (guided_reports.pl, svc/report, opac/svc/report)
catch the new exception alongside DuplicateRunning, mapping it to a
new template error key total_running_reports_limit_exceeded for the
staff UI and a JSON {error: total_running_reports_limit_exceeded}
with HTTP 429 for the JSON endpoints.
Test Plan:
1) Set total_running_reports_per_user_limit to 3 in your koha-conf.xml.
2) Create 3 long-running reports like:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM items i1 JOIN items i2 JOIN items i3 JOIN items i4 JOIN items i5 JOIN items i6
3) Run each report in turn by opening a new tab, browsing to the
reports module, and choosing to run that report.
4) Note the first three continue to run, but a fourth attempt gives
the new "too many reports running" alert in the staff UI.
5) Repeat against /cgi-bin/koha/svc/report?id=N and confirm an HTTP
429 response with JSON {error: total_running_reports_limit_exceeded}.
6) Set total_running_reports_per_user_limit back to 0 and confirm
normal behaviour resumes.
7) prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Reports.t -> 13 tests pass, including a
new subtest for TotalRunning.

This commit add the option duplicate_running_reports_per_user_limit to
koha-conf.xml. If this option is empty or 0, the feature is disabled. If
this option is enabled, Koha will limit the number of times a given
report can be run of a single Koha user.
Test Plan:
1) Apply this patch
2) Set duplicate_running_reports_per_user_limit to 1, verify previous
behavior is maintained
2) Set duplicate_running_reports_per_user_limit to 0, verify the feature
is disabled
3) Set duplicate_running_reports_per_user_limit to 2, verify Koha limits
the number of duplicates of the report to the number specified in duplicate_running_reports_per_user_limit

Some services ( such as CloudFlare ) use alternative heads to X-Forwarded-For. Koha should be able to use a custom header instead of X-Forwarded-For if needed.
This patch updates the feature to allow both the custom header and X-Forwarded-For to work harmoniously
For example, CloudFlare has it's own custom header.
This patch allows a site to be configured for Cloudflare's proxy before the proxy is enabled.

Add /api/v1/public/csp-reports endpoint to receive and log
Content-Security-Policy violation reports from browsers.
When CSP is configured with a report-uri directive pointing to this
endpoint, browsers will POST violation reports whenever a CSP rule
is violated. These reports are logged using Koha's logging system
for administrator review.
Features:
- Public endpoint (no authentication required, as browsers send
these reports automatically)
- Logs violations at WARN level with key details (violated directive,
blocked URI, document URI, source location)
- Logs full report at DEBUG level for detailed analysis
- Accepts both application/csp-report and application/json content types
Configuration example (in koha-conf.xml csp_header_value):
...; report-uri /api/v1/public/csp-reports
Log4perl configuration to capture CSP violations:
log4perl.logger.api.csp = WARN, CSP
log4perl.appender.CSP = Log::Log4perl::Appender::File
log4perl.appender.CSP.filename = /var/log/koha/csp-violations.log
log4perl.appender.CSP.layout = PatternLayout
log4perl.appender.CSP.layout.ConversionPattern = [%d] %m%n
Also updates koha-conf.xml documentation with CSP configuration guidance.

Add Koha::Middleware::ContentSecurityPolicy to the middleware chain
in both app.psgi and the Debian plack.psgi template.
Without this integration, the CSP feature would not work - the
middleware was created but never activated. This adds it to:
- app.psgi (development/git install)
- debian/templates/plack.psgi (opac, intranet, and intranet_svc mounts)

This change adds "style-src-attr 'unsafe-inline';" to the default CSP policy.
The reason is that we have a lot of inline styles throughout Koha,
and it will take a long time to clean those up. Also, the WYSIWYG/TinyMCE
editor injects inline styles, so it might not be possible to forbid
unsafe inline styles in Koha.

This patch adds a new configuration entry in `koha-conf.xml` for making
it possible to set a different `batch_size` for `koha-es-indexer`.
The current implementation has a default of *10* that can be overridden
using the CLI parameter `--batch_size N`.
Unfortunately, if you restart the server or the service without passing
the parameter, it will be set back to 10. This patch solves that by
adding a new config entry and making the script use it. The passed CLI
parameter will keep overridding the configured value.
To test:
1. Run:
$ ktd --shell
k$ koha-es-indexer --restart --batch_size 100 kohadev
k$ ps -ef | grep elastic
=> SUCCESS: No errors. Notice '100' is passed to the called perl script
2. Run:
k$ koha-es-indexer --restart kohadev
k$ ps -ef | grep elastic
=> FAIL: Notice '10' is the new value
3. Apply this patch
4. Run:
k$ reset_all
5. Repeat 1 and 2
=> SUCCESS: '100' is kept.
6. Try standalone `--start` too

This change adds the ability to enable and configure TCP keepalive
support for the SIP server using SIPconfig.xml.
For the sake of backwards compatibility, it defaults to disabled
and additional parameters default match typical kernel defaults.
Technical detail can be found in the perldoc for C4/SIP/SIPserver.pm
Test plan:
0. Apply the patch
1. koha-sip --restart kohadev
2. apt-get update && apt-get install tcpdump
3. In one window, run "tcpdump -A -n -v -i any 'port 6001'"
4. In another window, run the following:
echo -e "9300CNterm1|COterm1|CPCPL|\r" | nc 127.0.0.1 6001 -v
5. Note in tcpdump output that after the initial flood of packets,
nothing more is received
6. vi /etc/koha/sites/kohadev/SIPconfig.xml
7. In the "server-params" element, add attributes like the following:
custom_tcp_keepalive='1'
custom_tcp_keepalive_time='10'
custom_tcp_keepalive_intvl='5'
8. koha-sip --restart kohadev
9. In one window, run "tcpdump -A -n -v -i any 'port 6001'"
10. In another window, run the following:
echo -e "9300CNterm1|COterm1|CPCPL|\r" | nc 127.0.0.1 6001 -v
11. Note in tcpdump output that after the initial flood of packets,
ACK packets are sent out every 10+ seconds for the idle connection

The cron can take a very long time to run on systems with many issues.
For example, a partner with ~250k auto_renew issues is taking about 9 hours to run.
If we run that same number of issues in 5 parallel chunks
( splitting the number of issues as evenly as possible ), it could take under 2 hours.
Test Plan:
1) Generate a number of issues marked for auto_renew
2) Run the automatic_renewals.pl, use the `time` utility to track how much time it took to run
3) Set parallel_loops to 10 in auto_renew_cronjob section of config in koha-conf
4) Repeat step 2, note the improvement in speed
5) Experiment with other values

When an unauthorized call to svc is made, we use the ErrorDocument middleware to respond with an HTML
page. The API doens't do this, it simply returns its status. We should mount the svc as its own app to avoid
the redirect to HTML for unauthorized responses
To test:
1 - Create a report
2 - Add to IntranetUserJs:
$(document).ready(function() {
// Your report ID
var reportId = '492';
// Fetch the report
$.get('/cgi-bin/koha/svc/report?id=' + reportId, function(data) {
console.log('Kaboom');
});
});
3 - Log out
4 - Attempt to login
5 - KO
6 - Apply patch
7 - Reset all (or copy the necessary changes to your plack/apache files)
8 - Generate report and update user js again
8 - Logout, login
9 - Success!

This patch adds some commented Elasticsearch security configuration,
which shows how to use username/password with HTTPS.
Test plan:
0. Apply patch
1. cp debian/templates/koha-conf-site.xml.in /etc/koha/koha-conf-site.xml.in
2. koha-create --create-db test
3. vi /etc/koha/sites/test/koha-conf.xml
4. Note that the comments for userinfo and use_https are in the koha-conf.xml

My Koha testing docker SIP started dying repeatedly after launch. After investigation, I
found it was a problem with logging and default ports.
In D12 there is no syslog anymore, everythign uses journal. Four our purposes, lets log SIP issues
to sip.log by default
Attaching a patch to clear things up.
To test:
1 - Open KTD/D12
2 - tail -f /var/log/koha/kohadev/*.log
3 - On another terminal 'restart_all'
4 - Wait a bit, notice SIP dying
5 - Apply patch
6 - Update SIPconfig:
server-params:
log_file='/var/log/koha/kohadev/sip.log'
service with port 8023:
port="127.0.0.1:8023/tcp"
7 - Restart all
8 - Confirm SIP no longer dies

The userenv (logged in user's info) are stored in
$C4::Context->context->{activeuser}, which persists in plack worker's
memory.
It's really bad in theory as we are not cleaning it before or after the
HTTP request, but only when set_userenv is called (what we are doing
commonly in C4::Auth::get_template_and_user).
If C4::Context->userenv is called before set_userenv we should get undef,
not the userenv from the previous request!
In practice this should not be a problem, but well... who really knows?
This patch suggests to have a middleware to deal with removing the
userenv at the beginning of each request (maybe it should be after, right? - FIXME).
To test:
1 - Edit /etc/koha/sites/kohadev/koha-conf.xml to set <plack_workers>1</plack_workers>
2 - Edit about.pl and add a line after: CGI->new:
warn Data::Dumper::Dumper( C4::Cointext->userenv() );
3 - tail -f /var/log/koha/kohadev/*.log
4 - View about.pl in staff interface, should get a "somethign's wrong" warning
5 - Reload, you get current user info
6 - Open an incognito tab, sign in as a different user and click some stuff
7 - Reload about.pl in other window
8 - You get the opac user info
9 - Apply patch
10 - Edit /etc/koha/sites/kohadev/plack.psgi and add the middleware after "RealIP":
enable "+Koha::Middleware::UserEnv";
11 - Restart all
12 - Reload about.pl - you get a "Something's wrong" warning
13 - Click things in opac on incognito window
14 - Reload about.pl - only "Something's wrong" - you no longer see any user info

Mimic missing stuff from apache-shared-opac.conf into apache-shared-opac-plack.conf, where /search and /opac-search.pl aliases were missing.
Note that while RewriteRule applies before reverse proxy directives and works, ScriptAlias applies purely to standard cgi perl scripts, meaning it didn't apply there.
Now it's mimicked analogously to how /index.html is configured.
This patch fixes an issue where someone might have just a reverse proxy to Plack configured without native Perl scripting, where this URL would then otherwise be failing.

This patch introduces a Vue.js based record sources managing page. To
test it:
1. Apply this patch
2. Build the Vue.js stuff:
$ ktd --shell
k$ yarn js:build
k$ restart_all
3. On the staff interface, go to Administration > Record sources
4. Play with the interface and the offered actions
=> SUCCESS: Things go well
5. Sign off :-D
